Department for Education
On behalf of The Department for Education, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 Month contract based in Glasgow (hybrid).
As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Oversee timely delivery of projects by monitoring progress, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
- Apply organisational project management standards and ensure delivery to agreed quality, time and budget.
- Manage project risks, issues, and opportunities, escalating when required, and control any changes impacting delivery.
- Coordinate dependencies, interfaces, and third‑party contributions while maintaining strong supplier and stakeholder communication.
- Track, measure, and monitor project benefits and performance targets, reporting progress through agreed channels.
- Contribute to the project management centre of excellence by sharing lessons learned and seeking guidance when needed.
Essential:
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills with experience of reporting to a senior audience.
- Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating at all levels with technical and business teams, project stakeholders and sponsors.
- Focus on continuous improvement and developing working practices, for self and others.
- Self-motivated and highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Uses initiative to resolve issues and is confident in ability to make decisions.
- Strong MS Office suite knowledge, including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
