Description & Requirements


On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Knowledge & Information Management Lead for a 6 Month contract based Hybrid - Remote & 2 days p/week in Exeter.


As a Knowledge & Information Management Lead  your main responsibilities will be:

  • Direction & decision making re: implementation of a new data governance framework, implementing new Discovery Metadata Standard & leading activities to develop / run new data governance & assurance services.
  • Lead the Community of Practice and co-lead the Data Governance Group, providing training and support.
  • Publish and review policies & guidance on Data, Knowledge, and Information Management, introducing metrics, reporting and assurance services.
  • Contribute to the Enterprise Design Senior Leadership Team, contributing planned changes to the architects operating model & refreshed Enterprise Design Packs and achieving key objectives.
  • DKIM Plan Execution: Prioritise and drive deliverables, implementing new Information Asset Registers to strengthen data management.
  • Manage and develop the team of DKIM specialists, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.


You'll have:

  • Demonstrable Knowledge Information Management & Data Governance experience.
  • Line Management experience inc. strong leadership skills & the ability to direct.
  • Excellent Organisation & Communication Skills - ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Public Sector / regulated industry experience - desirable.
  • Transformation / Change project experience - desirable.
