AMS PSR

On behalf of Met Office, we are looking for a IT Service Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based hybrid in Exeter on an as and when required basis.

Reporting to Head of Data Services, the candidate will oversee the service management of AWS platforms providing data APIs to internal customers.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.  Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 

As an IT Service Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

• Managing finances including development of the budgets, appropriate forecasting and management through the financial life cycle 
• Delivering business cases for new services, improvements to an existing service, finances or resources 
• Driving the direction of programmes and projects to achieve their outcomes to meet business requirements, while maintaining business continuity and integrity of services 
• Managing the relationship with suppliers to ensure that their services are delivered effectively and that contracts are developed and negotiated to ensure value for money 
• Identifying and managing risks associated with all aspects of service delivery including resources and finances 

Essential:

• Be responsible for reporting on INCs, problem records and changes recorded in Service Now and building dashboards on those metrics
• Report on metrics available from AWS console, such as cost reporting and bring experience of good FinOps behaviours.
• Run service review meetings with internal customers, understanding current and internal usage patterns 
• Lead on developing IT service continuity plans
• Liaise with IT Ops to ensure service assurance documentation is in place i.e. support documentation, ServiceNow information
• Review and publish service OLAs
• Report on service status at weekly IT Service Management meeting.
