AMS PSR

On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for an IT Service Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract based Hybrid in Exeter.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 

As an IT Service Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

• Interim Team Management: Provide daily leadership, coordination, and support to the Cloud Team, ensuring efficient task allocation and team performance.
• Supplier Management: Act as the main point of contact for CGI (Azure Managed Service) and support relationship management with Atos and CloudReach to ensure effective service delivery.
• Azure Service Definition: Document the current Azure managed service and collaborate with stakeholders to define and shape future service requirements ahead of procurement.
• Operational Oversight: Partner with Delivery Managers to execute the service roadmap and maintain the smooth operation of AWS and Azure environments.
• Issue & User Engagement: Respond to operational queries, including vulnerability issues, and manage routine interactions with key account holders to resolve concerns.
• Optional/Support Tasks: Assist with prioritisation, planning, and operational finance activities as required to support overall IT service management objectives.

Desirable:

• Experience working within a commercial environment.
