AMS PSR

On behalf of the Met Office we are looking for a Programme Delivery Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Hybrid working based in Exeter. 

As Programme Delivery Manager for Digital Production Technology you will ensure the effective use of resources across teams through the use of appropriate metrics to ensure delivery of corporate objectives in line with strategy, highlighting when corrective action is needed. This will include ensuring appropriate monitoring and awareness of the performance of key suppliers is in place, ensuring they continue to meet our requirements whilst providing value for money for the organisation. You will utilise your depth of expertise and domain knowledge to challenge, influence and advise the creation of business plans and policies by senior/programme management, communicating between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

As a Programme Delivery Manager your main responsibilities will be:

• Provide strategic leadership for the relevant Technology teams, inspiring the teams to deliver high quality services that enable the Met Office to achieve its goals.
• As a member of the Digital Production capability leadership team, lead by example in setting clear and consistent standards for staff management, staff development, workforce planning and change management.
• Ensure effective financial and risk management processes are employed to manage the relevant IT capabilities within agreed budgetary and risk tolerances.
• Adopt and embed relevant good practice, Agile, Lean etc. that ensures the relevant IT capabilities meet the current needs of the wider organisation and that plans and resources are in place to meet agreed future ambitions.
• Embed a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging teams to challenge existing ways of working and to seek improvements that have tangible benefits for themselves and their customers.
• Work with peers and partners to undertake horizon scanning of industry trends determining their applicability to the Met Office and developing plans to adopt these.

Essential:

• An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.) 
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple teams and priorities within a complex environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.
• Experience managing budgets and ensuring effective financial oversight and control.
• Experience delivering or supporting technical projects, working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
