AMS PSR

On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Digital Delivery Manager (Inside IR35) for a 9 Month contract based REMOTELY with occasional visits to Exeter as required.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.  Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position, (and speed at which we require a postholder in situ), preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 

The DPD Squad is responsible for developing and implementing solutions that enable the orchestration of data, both internally and externally, to the Met Office. 

This enables the Message Switching team to focus on maintenance and configuration of existing data orchestration solutions.

Current projects include the development and implementation of components that will enable the WIS2 capabilities of the Met Office; and the migration of customers to the new DTS system from existing data transfer solutions such as DART.

All current and future work is based on service architecture plans provided, to ensure that any functionality deployed meets Enterprise Architecture Assurance requirements

You will be expected to:

• Lead the team on Agile and Lean ways of working
• Optimise the delivery flow of teams by removing impediments and actively addressing delivery risks
• Lead continual planning process for the team they are working within
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Identify and address issues with regard to team dynamics.
• Support the Lead IT Service Manager with Financial and Commercial management

Essential Criteria, skills and experience:

Agile and Lean practices:

• You can coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices.
• Act as a recognised expert and advocate for the approaches, continuously reflecting and challenging the team.
• Create or tailor new ways of working and consistently innovate.

Maintaining delivery momentum:

• Optimise the delivery flow of teams.
• Actively address the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside of the team.
• Identify and implement innovative ways to unblock issues.

Planning:

• You can lead a continual planning process in a very complex environment.
• Plan beyond product delivery.
• Identify dependencies in plans across services and co-ordinate delivery.
• Coach the team as the central point of expertise.

Team dynamics and collaboration:

• Identify problems or issues in the team dynamic and rectify them.
• Identify issues through Agile 'health checks' with the team and help stimulate the right responses.
• Engage in varying types of feedback, choosing the right type at the appropriate time and ensuring the discussion and decision stick.
• Accelerate the team development cycle
