About the Role

Great British Energy is looking for a Senior Delivery Project Manager to join our GBE Onshore Wind Team. This role will play a key part in contributing to projects, objectives, and wider organisational goals. 

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Lead delivery of renewable projects (typically 50–200+ MW scale)
  • Transition projects from development to construction (pre-FID → NTP)
  • Own programme, budget, and risk profile
  • Ensure achievement of key milestones:
  • Financial Close
  • Notice to Proceed (NTP)
  • Construction completion
  • Grid energisation
  • COD

 

 Commercial & Contract Management

  • Lead delivery under procurement models:
  • EPC
  • Multi-contract (Balance of Plant, Turbine, ICP, Civil works)
  • Administer contracts (NEC / FIDIC typical)
  • Manage contractor performance and claims
  • Control change orders, contingencies, and cost forecasts
  • Support resolution of disputes and commercial risks

 

 Programme & Schedule Control

  • Develop and manage integrated master programme
  • Identify critical path and manage schedule risk
  • Ensure alignment with:
  • Grid connection milestones
  • Planning conditions (discharge requirements)
  • Report regularly to board / senior management committees

Qualifications and Experience

Essential: 

  • Experienced People Leader
  • 10+ years in infrastructure / energy project delivery
  • Proven experience delivering:
  • Onshore wind, solar PV, or BESS projects in the UK
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • NEC / FIDIC contracts
  • CDM 2015 regulations
  • Grid connection processes
  • Experience managing EPC or multi-contract structures
  • Excellent stakeholder and leadership skills

 

Desirable:

  • Engineering or construction background
  • Project finance / lender interface experience
  • Chartered status (e.g., CEng, MRICS, MAPM)
  • Experience in public-sector or regulated environments
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or similar 
  • Professional accreditation (APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
