Description & Requirements
On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Recruitment Coordinator (PAYE) for an initial 6 month hybrid contract based in Exeter.
As a Recruitment Coordinator, your main responsibilities will be:
- Coordinating end-to-end recruitment campaigns, ensuring a smooth and compliant process for candidates and hiring managers
- Preparing and advertising vacancies across relevant channels
- Managing applications, including handling late submissions in line with process
- Responding to campaign queries and escalating complex issues where appropriate
- Issuing offer letters and contracts accurately and within agreed timelines
- Maintaining and updating candidate records in People Hub
- Ensuring recruitment documentation is uploaded and managed in line with compliance requirements
- Coordinating onboarding for new hires, Civil Service transfers, and Early Careers programmes
- Carrying out pre-employment checks (right to work, references, Occupational Health)
- Resolving starter pay queries and confirming start dates
- Supporting users with ATS (Tribepad) and contractor system (CWS) queries
- Assisting Advisors with programme activity, including Early Careers onboarding
- Managing multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Essential:
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
- Ability to manage high-volume, transactional tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Confident written communication skills with a range of stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands
- Quick learner with the ability to pick up new systems and processes
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a continuous improvement approach
- High energy, adaptable, and comfortable working across multiple campaigns
- Collaborative team player with the confidence to share ideas and suggest improvements
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Civil Service recruitment processes or frameworks
- Experience working in high-volume or campaign-based recruitment environments
