AMS PSR

On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Project Manager Inside IR35 for a 12 months contract based Hybrid 2 days a week in Exeter

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.  Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 

As a Project Manager , your main responsibilities will be to:

• Lead projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery within time, cost, and quality constraints, including maintaining structured project plans and controls.
• Provide strong day-to-day leadership of the project team, encompassing effective resource planning, coaching, performance management, and the successful oversight of medium-sized teams.
• Identify, engage, and manage internal and external stakeholders, including influencing senior-level support and maintaining clear reporting
• Manage budgets, risks, and issues, ensuring proper governance, escalation, and accountability through structured reporting and assurance processes.
• Manage change processes, track performance, adjust delivery as needed, and ensure alignment with agreed outcomes and business case objectives.

Essential:

• Ability to build, maintain, and support effective relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration across teams.
• Proven capability to mentor, guide, and develop team members, fostering a high-performing and supportive team environment
• Strong skills in identifying, managing, and resolving conflicts or issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions that support project delivery.

Desirable:

• Experience in public sector
• Technology or science background
