Description & Requirements


On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Digital DevOps Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 6 Month contract based Remotely with occasional travel to Exeter.


As a Digital DevOps Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Supports the development and operation of software through tools, environments and practices.
  • Responsible for underpinning good development processes including managing tools and testing environments, central code control, maintaining development standards, improving automation and simplification of processes.
  • Delivering automated software components that form part of a development operations toolchain.
  • Transforming technical requirements into DevOps processes; build complex stories without additional support; manage live test environments; identify and resolve issues preventing delivery, reducing risk.
  • Manage the service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.
  • Design solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered as mitigation against security threats as a core part of the solutions and services.


Essential:

  • Strong Elastic experience
  • Python Experience


SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 


Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
