Description & Requirements

On behalf of the Met Office we are looking for an IT Service Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Hybrid working with 1 day per week required in Exeter. 


The role will be working across the Met Office to aid in delivering exceptional services, through robust governance and data quality standards for our Services. You will be part of the IT Service Management team within our Service Management Office.


This role requires expertise in Service Asset and Configuration Management (preferable in the ServiceNow Common Services Data Model (CSDM)), Integration, Change Management, and Service Level Management and the primary purpose is to drive continual service improvements to the processes. Specific work packages are likely to include the Integration of Product, Service and Contract information across Service Now and Dynamics platforms. Implementation of Dynamic IT Change models and work to mature our approach to Service Level Management


As an IT Service Manager your main responsibilities will be to:


  • Design and implement automated workflows to streamline service delivery and change processes.
  • Support pipeline deployment automation and continuous delivery practices.
  • Manage integration of IT services across platforms, including Dynamics and CRM systems.
  • Drive improvements in service level management, ensuring SLAs are defined and monitored and processes aligned with Best Practice and fit for purpose.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve service management best practice across the organisation
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL and other relevant service management frameworks.


Essential:


  • An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.)
  • Demonstratable IT Service Management experience.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and service management best practices.
  • ServiceNow experience.
  • Understanding of Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and its application in service management.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.


Desirable:


  • Public Sector experience.
  • Relevant certifications, such as ITIL, PRINCE2, or similar.
