Description & Requirements


On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Lifeguard (Inside IR35) for a 9 month contract which starts on the 1st October 2025 based fully on site at the Britannia Naval Base Dartsmouth in Devon


The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad.


The Lifeguard, is located at Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC), Dartmouth.

 BRNC output is Phase 1 and 2 training, through the Training Management Group (TMG), for RN, RFA and Officers.

 

 BRNC, including the RNLA and URNU are part of the People and Training Directorate within Navy Command.

 

As a Lifeguard, your main responsibilities will be:


  • The Swimming Pool Attendant must maintain an acceptable level of fitness.
  • Ensure the poolside is kept clean and tidy throughout the day.
  • Compile swimming pool usage logs as required.
  • Liaise with the Swimming Pool Manager regarding the timing of repairs and specific requirements.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance wearing the RLSS Lifeguard uniform when on duty.
  • Conduct the Inclusion in the Civil Service-annual mandatory training.

 

Essential Skills


  • NPLQ - National Poll Lifeguard Qualification
  • Experience as a lifeguard
  • Excellent communication skills


Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
