Governance Risk and Assurance Manager
1 X Permanent: Full time 36 hours per week
Salary: £55 403 – £58 173 per annum.
A £312 tax-free working from home allowance is also payable annually.
Location: Remote (UK) or be based on our offices in Belfast, Edinburgh

About the role
Lead the analysis, design and delivery of business processes and quality improvements, driving continuous improvement and building organisational capability so the commission can meet new responsibilities, deliver it corporate plan and respond effectively to changes from electoral reform.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be:
- Produce an as-is/to-be analysis of current processes, identifying gaps and recommending future design, resourcing and improvements.
- Establish and lead a business process and quality assurance function, building and managing a high-performing team
- Develop and implement a business process strategy, working with Head of Departments to analyse, streamline and document processes
- Design and embed a quality assurance framework, including standards, procedures, monitoring systems and potential accreditation
- Drive continuous improvement using methods such as LEAN and 6Sigma to deliver benefits and efficiencies
- Raise organisational awareness of process and quality approaches, supporting training, communications and capabilities
- Stay abreast of best practice and update strategies to ensure the Commission remains efficient and effective
- Contribute proactively to the Planning, Performance and Project team, delivering excellent service and supporting corporate and change priorities
- Actively promote corporate objectives, equality and flexibility, undertaking other reasonable duties as required
About the team
You will be building collaborative relationships within the Planning, Performance and Projects team, contributing to shared objectives. You will influence and support Heads of Departments by designing effective process solutions.
Engaging with the executive team by demonstrating measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency and quality ensuring organisation priorities are met through partnership and communication.

You will have the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate with colleagues and senior leaders to achieve desired results. You will be able to use own initiative to identify and raise problems, suggesting practical solutions.
You’ll ideally have:
Essential:
- Demonstrable track record of business process engineering and quality assurance, with evidence of applying proportionate, practical solutions
- Experience of designing and setting up appropriate structures
- Experience managing a team and collaborating to deliver results
- Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate with colleagues and senior leaders to achieve desired results
- Awareness of approaches to continuous improvement and quality standards
- Strong oral, interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical information clearly
- Able to use own initiative to identify and raise problems, suggesting practical solutions
- Comfortable with handling and documenting detail
Desirable
- Some experience gained working in or closely with the public sector
- Experience Delivering Training
