As part of NS&I’s Commercial Team, you will define and lead on our supply chain and contract portfolio data, insights and reporting.
Using your understanding of contracts and suppliers, you will create and operate a best practice approach that provides visibility of the risks in our supply chain. Risks will include financial stability and any other factors that could impact our direct suppliers and the supply chains of our most critical contracts. You will have oversight of the overall performance, risk and compliance of our contract portfolio, worth over £1.05bn across 130+ contracts.
Your role will ensure that the Commercial Team, and our contract managers plus senior contract owners, have the tools, systems and data to fulfil their roles, as well as building an increased understanding of contract and supplier intelligence through training and awareness events across NS&I.
This role has responsibility for leading on the development of our reporting and data visualisation for supplier, contract and market information needs; more importantly, you will also use your skills and experience to bring analysis and interpretation of the data, by clearly identifying, researching and communicating the trends and risks that it shows us.

In your application you will be asked to provide the following
- An outline of your career history and qualifications with your key responsibilities and achievements.
- A 500 word personal statement on the key essential experience skills and technical knowledge in the person specifications.
- A 250 word statement for each selected behaviour at sift.
- Please use examples from your experience and knowledge to demonstrate how you meet them addressing the essential criteria in the Person Specification. We would recommend using the STAR ‘situation, task, action, result’ method of giving examples.
We will assess applications on your personal statement and behaviour statements.
In the event we receive a large number of applicants, applications will be sifted first on the Personal Statement. Only those that meet the minimum acceptable score for this criteria will qualify for the full sift and be considered for interview.
If shortlisted, you will be invited to attend a 1 hour panel interview via video call.
As part of this interview you will be asked to you will be asked to prepare a short presentation related to the identification of insights and supply chain risks associated with a company or companies and how best to address these. The specific presentation topic will be provided in the interview invite.
Interviews are planned to take place in the week commencing 8th June 2026.

For External Candidates: If you are not currently employed within the civil service, you will be offered the starting salary at the bottom of the advertised pay range.
