AMS PSR

On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a contract which is running to the end of March 2027, this is a hybrid role and requires up to 3 days a week in the Corsham office

The role of this Project Manager is to lead projects and to work within a wider project team on a day-to-day basis. This Project Manager is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of SATCOM/SKYNET-specific ground infrastructure projects, working with the Prime Contractor ( Systems Integration experience) to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. The Project Manager has a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

• Delivery – Create and lead ground infrastructure projects to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
• Project Management – Day to day management and leadership of projects and the project team. Set project controls. Design the project structure appropriate to stage. Select and apply appropriate delivery methodologies.
• Stakeholder Management – Identify key stakeholders and develop effective relationships.
• Change Management – Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
• Guidance & Support – Seek appropriate support, guidance and coaching from the project community. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.

Essential Skills

• Experience in ICT project management delivery within a busy department across either public or private sectors
• Stakeholder engagement at all levels across the business Including satellite delivery teams
• Develop, implement, maintain and review systems and services to ensure delivery of professional excellence
• Strong self starter and show a positive approach to keeping the whole team’s efforts focused on the top priorities
• Experience across Risk, Issues, planning and scheduling as an experienced project manager
• APM Project Management or PRINCE2 Practitioner Qualifications

Desirable Skills

• SATCOM experience and skillset will be highly beneficial
