AMS PSR

On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for an 18 month contract which is a hybrid role that Includes 3 days a week in Corsham, 2 days a month in Northwood which is northwest London and also occasional travel to other sites in the south of England

This position acts as a link between Defence Digital SATCOM and Wg Cdr Rich Crouch in the Capability Sponsor space team, looking at providing critical support in the space domain with the introduction to service of the SKYNET 6 (SK6) programme, which is delivering significant upgrades over the next 5 years to UK Military SATCOM. This role will support delivery of an integrated SATCOM capability into the Front-Line Command users, ensuring coherency in line with the Defence Lines of Development.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

• Risks & Issues – Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
• Stakeholder Management – Identify key stakeholders and develop effective relationships.
• Development and maintenance of a Capability Integration Plan & associated roadmaps for introduction into service of Key SK6 products, focusing on the Front-line commands user needs associated with the introduction to service, including the forward planning of User Acceptance activities linked to DLoDs.
• Governance – Provide key reports and support effective governance and decision making.
• Guidance & Support – Seek appropriate support, guidance and coaching from the project community. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.
• Delivery – Create and lead the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.

Essential Skills

• Military SATCOM user experience, either Front Line Command or Defence Digital SATCOM Theatre Delivery /Maritime Team Desk Officer
• Excellent Stakeholder engagement at multiple levels with the ability to communicate with military thermology
• Experience in risk and dependencies at a project management level
• Requirements verification & validation (ITEA)
• Experience in the delivery of planning and scheduling at project management level
• Experience of business change at this level

Desirable Skills

• Military experience would be highly beneficial
• SAT communications knowledge would be highly beneficial
