Description & Requirements


On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a P3M Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract which is a hybrid role so does require 3 days a week in the Corsham office, please note additional travel is 1 day a month in both the Christchurch and Abby wood offices which will be expensed


The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad.


Provide an Enterprise Portfolio Management, EPM function that provides the central repository of Project and Programme information. Develop and issue regular summary reports to senior portfolio management. Produce portfolio level supporting documentation, accurately and in a timely manner. Suggest improvements and identify discrepancies where necessary. Implement a framework across the portfolio to effectively identify, assess and prioritise risks. Provide the reporting structure across the portfolio to Programme and Project level to ensure a quick and accurate flow of information through the structure.


SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.


As a P3M Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Write updates on project status to be delivered (monthly) and verbally reported (weekly) to Senior PM.
  • Plan and execute project management activity associated with TRINITY projects.
  • Work with the Project Controls lead and functional areas to maintain and update the planning artefacts including delivery schedules.
  • Manage the execution of schedules, coordinate the functional team to deliver functional aspects, report progress to the team and senior management via a monthly progress report (word).
  • Draft / maintain / update TRINITY project management and approval artefacts.
  • Work with Approvals SoR lead to manage the Approvals and Scrutiny engagement process, facilitating information flow between external assurers and the TacSys/AHQ delivery teams. To include Risk and Complexity Assessment, Project Evaluation and Approvals Tool and Digital Approvals Tools.
  • Develop and maintain slide packs for weekly project meetings, and updates/briefings for other leadership boards/meetings (Service Owner Board, CWIG, CPMB).


Essential Skills


  • Experienced as a Project Manager within central government across digital projects and programmes
  • Stakeholder engagement at all levels across the business which may Include external stakeholders
  • Experience across engineering support as part of project management delivery
  • Strong self starter with a proactive approach to all duties


Desirable Skills


  • Experience within the MOD would be highly beneficial
