Description & Requirements

On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Junior Software Procurement Officer (Inside IR35) for a 9 Month contract based  in Corsham 1 day week onsite (ideally Tuesday).

Join the Software Management Team within End User Services, part of the newly established Nuclear Armament Group Services in the Ministry of Defence. As a Junior Software Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of critical software services across the defence environment.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, assist with procurement through the MOD’s Contracting, Purchasing and Finance (CP&F) system, and help ensure service continuity across a range of defence projects. This is an excellent opportunity to develop service delivery, procurement, and stakeholder engagement skills in a high impact environment.


As a Junior Software Procurement Officer, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Work with the Software Management Team to complete tasking orders received from Pan Defence stakeholders.
  • Engage with wider teams to support successful service delivery outcomes.
  • Support procurement activities through the MOD CP&F system.
  • Work with commercial stakeholders to source and purchase software required for project delivery.
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of critical software to maintain service continuity.
  • Manage procurement requests for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend weekly meetings with 3rd party suppliers to support ongoing contracts and deliveries.
  • Provide customer facing support, handling queries, complaints, and ad hoc issues professionally and efficiently.


Essential:


  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and support service delivery activities in a structured environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in customer facing roles, handling queries or issues professionally.
  • Basic understanding of procurement or purchasing processes (CP&F experience beneficial but not essential).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build strong working relationships.
  • Problem solving mindset with the ability to identify issues and support resolutions.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
