Description & Requirements

On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Assistant Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract which is a hybrid role so requires 4 days a week in Corsham plus additional travel to Cumbria for 2-3 days once a month.

DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.


As a Assistant Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Supports the planning, delivery, and control of projects that contribute to Defence capability, infrastructure, equipment procurement, digital transformation, and operational objectives.
  • Work alongside Project Managers, Programme Managers, commercial teams, engineers, and military stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and delivery milestones.
  • Coordinate project activities and ensure progress aligns with agreed objectives.
  • Support resource planning and allocation activities.
  • Help manage dependencies and monitor project timelines.


Essential Skills


  • Experience of auditing assets and maintenance logs across a busy team
  • Supporting the overall team, dependency management support
  • Stakeholder engagement at all levels which is Internal staff
  • Strong self starter with a proactive approach


Desirable Skills


  • MOD experience would be highly beneficial
  • Quality Assurance auditing experience would be highly beneficial
