On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Part-time Senior Project Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. This is a hybrid working role (one day per month office based - Cardiff).

Job Purpose:
Review the examination findings to identify aspects that will or may affect fitness for purpose or operational safety.
Recommend actions to deal with identified problems that will or may affect fitness for purpose or operational safety.
As a Senior Project Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
- The Candidate is expected to be able make decisions relating to the actual condition of the Lineside Building - Built Environment asset and its use, and predict the extent and rate of deterioration in its subsequent fitness for purpose and/or operational and public safety.
- The Candidate is also expected to be able to recommend actions together with priorities and cost estimations for dealing with identified problems.
- The Candidate is responsible for the integrity of all of the recommendations which he/she makes. However, ultimate responsibility for the implementation of the recommended actions does not lie with the candidate, except when urgent notification of actions required and instigation of emergency arrangements is necessary in order to maintain safety.
Essential:
- A Bachelor’s degree in field of civil and / or structural engineering (RQF/CQFW Level 6 / SCQF Level 10)
- Affiliation to the following:
- IEng, or CEng
- MICE or MIStructE
- BICS (Senior Inspector Level)
- MCIOB
- MRICS
Desirable:
- Rail experience
