On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a Supply Chain Manager (Inside IR35) for a 18 month contract based in Burghfield 100% attendance onsite.
What if you could work on something that you can’t test… but cannot afford to fail? AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. Working to support the defence of our country, AWE has a clear mission to keep everyone, the environment, their products and information, sites, and everything around them, safe and secure.
In this role you will Ensure alignment and collaboration between SCM and the Tech Centres to identify the demand plan and drive value for money though effective commercial strategy and prioritisation planning. Ensure an effective handshake between the programme and the SCM function on the pipeline of activity to be delivered.
As a Supply Chain Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Post Procurement co-ordination of the end-to-end supply chain
- Driving continuous improvement with contracted suppliers and Supply Chain
- Managing supplier performance
- Supporting with negotiation of long-term supplier contracts
- Ensuring compliance to regulations and quality standards (including GMP)
- Maintaining ERP systems to a high standard
- Working with the Operations Manager, production and projects teams to ensure contracts are running to agreed timelines and ensuring on time delivery and product quality.
Essential:
- Active DV Clearance
- Experience working within supply chain or procurement
- Experience working within high regulated industries – Public sector, defence, aerospace,
- PA23 experience
- Good Manufacturing Experience (GMP) within manufacturing industries – aerospace, automotive, defence
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- ERP system experience
- Background managing suppliers and support contract deliveries
- Experience negotiating with suppliers
Desirable:
- Previous AWE experience
- MCIPS
