On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a Material Production Planner (Outside IR35) for an 18 Month hybrid contract based in Burghfield.


What if you could work on something that you can’t test… but cannot afford to fail? Something that could have spent years on a submarine, is launched into outer space (where the temperature is below -250c), comes hurtling through the atmosphere, being heated up and shaken and then must work? AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. As a Material Production Planner, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Working with the Sourcing Business Partners (SBPs) & other Commercial colleagues to efficiently manage TC (Tech Centre) procurement needs, resolve problems and ensure plans are aligned with business priorities.
  • Working with the Finance Business Partners & Material Planners to ensure the assumptions around material spend are reliable, with accurate information on anticipate costs, need-by dates and order status.
  • Sourcing, consolidating & translating Demand data from across the TC and relaying onto Commercial Function to support the creation of procurement plans that address future material requirements and adhere to PPR/DSPCR thresholds.
  • Working with TC Planners, Commercial & Finance Partners to ensure appropriate procurement strategy is in place to enable delivery of programme materials.


Essential:


  • Experience of collaborative working and bringing groups together.
  • Extensive Supply Chain experience.
  • Strong experience in material planning in production.
  • SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role; as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
