On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Deputy Project Manager Inside IR35 for an 11 months contract based Hybrid 3 days a week in Bristol

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
As a Deputy Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Define, document, and execute a major project, actively participating in all phases and ensuring deliverables meet cost, timescale, and resource budgets
- Assess and confirm the UK Strategic Sealift demand signal, manage stakeholder relationships, and seek support when needed.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, and handle change control procedures to ensure changes are captured, assessed, and approved.
- Estimate costs, timescales, and resource requirements, monitor and forecast deviations, and take corrective actions.
- Prepare, maintain, and track realistic project and quality plans, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders.
- Assist in delivering project outcomes, developing business cases, managing budgets and resources, ensuring benefits realization, and supporting governance and assurance activities.
Essential:
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects within the defence sector.
- Hands-on experience with frontline commands FLC (Army, Navy, Air Force) and Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S/DES)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and drafting business cases.
- Professional qualifications/memberships such as: Agile Project Manager, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or similar
Desirable:
- Experience in risk management
- Experience in project online, Primavera P6
- Previous MOD/Defence experience highly desirable.
