Description & Requirements

On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Data Analyst  Inside IR35 for a 5 months contract based Hybrid Bristol


SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active SV clearance.

As a Data Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:


Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and validate data from NTFS and SharePoint to ensure critical documents are retained and available to stakeholders.
  • Build effective working relationships across teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs of documentation and ensure accurate metadata is captured for each.
  • Conduct exploratory and statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Utilise dashboards and reports, to communicate insights and performance metrics to stakeholders. Ensuring the data findings are presented clear and accessible way to non-technical audiences.
  • Support data governance and metadata management initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with MOD and local Policy.

Technical Skills

  • Use appropriate tools to analyse data and present findings clearly.
  • Understand the importance of data quality, standards, and compliance.
  • Use tools like Power BI to provide clear and informative visual outputs.
  • Understand metadata principles and contribute to their application.

Essential Experience

  • Experience working with data in a digital or information management environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, and at least one data visualisation tool (e.g., Power BI).
  • Understanding of data protection and Information Management.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • To be able to adapt to changing priorities.
