On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for an Infrastructure Operations Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 10 month contract based in Bristol 3 days per week on site.

DV/SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
As an Infrastructure Operations Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
- New applications and server services.
- Ensuring servers are fully patched/updated (hardware and software).
- Ensuring new services are added to the backup and restoration schedule/plans.
- Delivering services that are compliant with relevant regulations and legislation.
- Transition of new server services into Operations
Essential:
- New Server build, configure and deployment activities in a complex environment.
- Performing service desk support activity including desk side and remote workstation support to assist users.
- Troubleshooting end user IT issues to resolve incidents.
- Installing and upgrading software and performs regular maintenance on IT systems to keep It updated and working efficiently, following release management processes and patching.
- Monitoring activity on the diagnostic display screens and escalate issues.
- Actively resolving incidents or support desk items and close assigned tickets by following support standards and procedures, so that performance can be monitored and trends identified.
- Ensuring full adherence to escalation procedures in Incident, Problem & Change Management.
- Windows Server 2022/ Windows 10/ Office 2016/ Virtualisation (VMWare Horizon
and VCF migration)
