Description & Requirements
On behalf of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), we are looking for a Stakeholder Communications & Events Officer (Inside IR35) for a contract up to 31st March 2025 on a remote basis (with office attendance in Bootle between 1-3 times per month)
HSE is the independent regulator for work-related health and safety. Our purpose is to protect people and places – we save lives.
HSE is highly regarded both nationally and internationally. The benefits that our work brings to business, workers and the UK economy are clear. Improved health and safety risk management protects workers and translates into reduced sickness absence, lower healthcare and welfare costs, and better productivity.
The Building Safety Act gained royal assent in 2022 following the Hackitt review of building safety in the wake of the Grenfell tragedy. The Act included measures to establish a Building Safety Regulator (BSR), which sits within HSE, that oversee structural and fire safety in high rise residential buildings, provides oversight of the whole built environment and builds capability within industry.
We concentrate effort on the most serious risks, targeting industries with the greatest hazards, and sectors with the worst risk management record. We hold people to account where we have to, and we are firm but fair when using our legal powers. We also provide support to businesses through free guidance and advice tailored to business needs. By giving them the confidence to manage risks sensibly, we boost productivity, support the economy, and contribute to a fairer society. We work hard to help maintain an effective regulatory framework, playing our part in providing proportionate and accountable legal requirements.
The world of work is always changing. We use science to understand these changes. And that understanding helps us all prepare for the workplaces of tomorrow...so Great Britain continues to be one of the safest and best places to work and do business.
