On behalf of The Department for Transport, we are looking for a Strategic Workforce Planner (Inside IR35) for a 6 Month contract based in Birmingham, Leeds, Swansea or Hastings (3 days per week on site).

As a Strategic Workforce Planner, your main responsibilities will be:
- Build and maintain Excel-based workforce planning models to forecast staffing needs and inform medium- to long‑term resourcing plans.
- Produce monthly workforce reports for HR Business Partners, offering insights, narrative, and future projections.
- Identify workforce trends and risks to support effective planning and decision‑making.
- Collaborate with key teams (e.g., Finance, Strategy, HR) to ensure accurate workforce data and a joined‑up planning approach.
- Analyse starter and leaver survey data, providing insights and recommendations, and support the development of workforce planning processes, guidance, and colleague upskilling.
Essential:
- Excel Expertise – Confident using Excel to create tools for modelling, forecasting, and analysis.
- Collaboration – Able to build strong relationships and work effectively with colleagues and partners.
- Data Insight – Skilled at interpreting data to spot trends and support decision-making.
- Planning & Problem-Solving – Organised, proactive, and able to find solutions when working with different stakeholders.
