On behalf of Homes England, we are looking for an Events Coordinator Inside IR35 for a contract until 31/03/2025 (Possible extension) based Hybrid working (2/3 days per week in Birmingham or Liverpool office and remaining WFH) This role will involve travel for Events

Job purpose 

You will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of purpose-led external events for Homes England, helping to establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. A key part of your role will be contributing to ensuring colleagues are showcased at high-profile speaker events, positioning them as thought leaders in the industry.


You will be responsible for organising event logistics, developing event plans, and coordinating with senior management and partners to ensure seamless execution. This includes carrying out site recces, managing external events and speaker enquiries, briefing participants, attending events and overseeing on-site operations to guarantee smooth delivery.


Key relationships

You will maintain strong relationships with colleagues across the communications team and work closely with teams across the broader organisation, providing advice and keeping internal teams informed of event developments and speaker opportunities. You will also work closely with our legal, finance and procurement teams to ensure that we are following correct procedures when working with partners and suppliers. This role will also include responsibility for planning and delivering external events. It will involve regular travel across the UK to conduct site recces, visit work offices, and set up event equipment and spaces to support event delivery.


In addition, you’ll build productive relationships with external event organisers, event management agencies, trade bodies, and partners, both locally and nationally. This will involve responding to external events and speaker enquiries and liaising with stakeholders to ensure the smooth planning and delivery of successful events, maximising their impact.


The main duties and responsibilities of the Events Coordinator would be to:

  • Support the production and delivery of national and regional events, ensuring smooth execution and logistics.
  • Support the delivery of Homes England owned events, and the delivery of Homes England’s presence when we are exhibiting at third party events, as well as ensuring colleagues are showcased as speakers at high-profile third party events. 
  • Manage the external events planner, centralising all event attendance and speaking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, EAs and event organisers to confirm speaker and event opportunities and share relevant event information.
  • Assist in creating planning tools and documents for seamless event execution.
  • Help evaluate events for efficiency and value for money, supporting regional events alongside the External Relations and Events Manager.
  • Assist with managing event budgets, and follow correct procurement procedures, liaising with suppliers for quotes, raising POs, getting contracts signed, and ensuring value for money.


Key qualifications, knowledge and experience:

  • Strong understanding of event management with proven experience in planning and delivering events of any size, showcasing excellent project management skills.
  • Experience working in a communications, marketing, or events team (desirable), with a solid understanding of event coordination and logistics.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise, and think creatively, paired with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the flexibility to travel across the country and work outside of typical hours to support event delivery.
