AMS PSR

On behalf of DESNZ, we are looking for a Commercial Analyst for a 3 month (Inside IR35) contract based in Birmingham, Liverpool, London or Salford. 

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) is focused on the energy portfolio from the former Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

As a Commerical Analyst, your main responsibilities will be to:

• Engage with three government organisations to review their outsourced supplier arrangements.
• Analyse commercial contracts and produce reports to inform senior decision-makers.
• Identify contracts requiring short-term action using prioritisation criteria (e.g., duplication, poor performance, value for money, legal concerns).
• Contribute to high-impact commercial activities aligned with WHP goals.
• Support the Commercial Lead in delivering project outcomes within the defined timeframe.
• Collaborate with a growing commercial profession and contribute to best practice development.

Essential:

• Excellent analytical and commercial acumen.
• Experience in contract analysis and supplier performance evaluation.
• Ability to produce clear, actionable reports for senior stakeholders.
• Understanding of public sector procurement and commercial frameworks.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Some exposure to supplier management.
