On behalf of The Insolvency Service, we are looking for a Senior Content Designer (Inside IR35) for a 5 month contract working remotely.
About the Role
The Insolvency Service is launching a new, improved intranet.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Content Designer to work within a small content design team. The role of the team is to review, redraft and improve all existing intranet content before it is migrated to the new intranet.
This is a hands on content design role focused on reviewing, rewriting and improving existing intranet content before migration to a new platform.
Experience writing to GOV.UK standard is essential. Experience writing intranet content is desirable.
As a Senior Content Designer your main responsibilities will be to:
- Collaborate with other content designers to audit existing intranet content for quality and clarity.
- Audit, review and improve existing content, ensuring only accurate, user focused and accessible content is migrated to the new intranet.
- Improve content across the existing intranet and migrate it to the new intranet.
- Work with SMEs across the agency to fact check and sign off all new content.
- Review and improve existing user journeys based on the navigation of the new intranet site.
Essential:
- Strong understanding of user-centred design and government accessibility standards.
- Experience writing content to GOV.UK standards.
- Excellent writing, editing and digital content production skills.
- Experience transforming complex information into clear, concise and accessible content using GOV.UK standards and plain English principles.
- Proven ability to present complex information in consistent, accessible and scannable formats.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
Desirable:
- Experience of content audit / improvement projects.
- Experience writing for intranets.
