On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Digital Business Analyst for a 12 month contract (Inside IR35) based Hybrid in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield.
About the Role
DWP Digital is delivering major transformation across its services and is now looking for an experienced Digital Business Analyst to join the Transfer PIP Service Programme. This is a highly technical environment with multiple integrated systems, so you’ll play a key role in translating complex technical concepts into clear business requirements.
You’ll be working as part of the Transfer PIP Service Programme which involves multiple integrated services and technical components.
You’ll work within a multidisciplinary agile squad alongside developers, testers and technical SMEs. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working with data and system integrations and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
As a Digital Business Analyst your main responsibilities will be to:
- Work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to understand user needs and business problems.
- Translate complex technical information into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Support agile delivery across sprints including backlog refinement, story writing and UAT.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and requirement‑gathering sessions.
- Document processes and identify opportunities for improvement across multiple systems.
- Act as the link between technical teams and operational teams ensuring a shared understanding of priorities.
- Contribute to business cases and supporting analysis for technical and non‑technical solutions.
Essential:
- Strong experience working in technical, system‑integrated environments.
- Ability to break down and explain complex or technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Proven stakeholder management across technical, business and delivery teams.
- Hands‑on agile delivery experience including user stories, acceptance criteria and UAT.
- Confident working directly with developers, testers and architects.
Desirable:
- Experience using Jira and Confluence
- Previous experience in central government or health related services
- Background in large scale digital transformation or multi‑service programmes
