Description & Requirements


On behalf of EANI, we are looking for Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Officer x6  for a 6 Month contract (with possible extension) based Hybrid - minimum 3 days p/week in Armagh, Ballymena or Dundonald .


EA was established on 1 April 2015 under the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2014. EA is a non- departmental public body sponsored by the Department of Education (DE) and the Department for the Economy (DfE), responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective primary and secondary education and educational services are available to meet the needs of children and young people, and for ensuring the provision of efficient and effective youth services.


As a Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Officer, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Respond to urgent repair requests for mechanical, electrical systems, and infrastructure, including kitchen equipment.
  • Handle emergency maintenance and repairs for Mechanical and Electrical Services installations and equipment.
  • Conduct regular visits for day-to-day maintenance issues and planned maintenance programs.
  • Appoint, supervise, and inspect contractors for maintenance repairs and projects, ensuring quality work.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and legislation, focusing on health and safety.
  • Prepare and submit condition reports on properties, maintaining updated records of plant and equipment.


You'll have:

  • Demonstrable Mechanical / Electrical Design & Installation experience.
  • An understanding of Project Management.
  • Contract Management knowledge - NEC3/4
  • Construction & Health and Safety Management experience.
  • A valid CSR card.
  • ONC / HNC in Mechanical / Electrical fields.
