Description & Requirements

On behalf of EANI, we are looking for a Capital Reporting Business Partner (Inside IR35/PAYE) for a 4 months contract based Remote with occasional travel.


EA was established on 1 April 2015 under the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2014. EA is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department of Education (DE) and the Department for the Economy (DfE), responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective primary and secondary education and educational services are available to meet the needs of children and young people, and for ensuring the provision of efficient and effective youth services.


As a Capital Reporting Business Partner, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Assist in delivering service requirements, including finance support for the capital budget and annual accounts process.
  • Manage Capital Budget and Yearend Processes: Oversee assigned processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop Strategies and Frameworks: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service with a focus on financial governance and compliance.
  • Resolve Service Issues: Address and investigate service problems, queries, and escalations, including complex issues within financial guidance and accounting standards.
  • Monitor Performance: Use reports to ensure timely progression of activities and address areas of concern.
  • Maintain Excellent Working Relationships: Develop and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including budget holders and external agencies.


Essential:


  • Be a fully or part qualified accountant or have five years’ demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to lead and to achieve targets and objectives within a demanding and pressurised environment against challenging deadlines and through engaging team members.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of statutory and/or financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
