Description & Requirements
On behalf of the Education Authority of Northern Ireland, (EANI), we are looking for an Agency Development and Support Officer, (Testing), (Inside IR35) for a 7 Month Hybrid contract based in Armagh or Omagh 1 day per week.
Candidates must be based in Northern Ireland
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Developing and delivering solutions for the pre-school Online Portal Workstream within the Pre-School Standardisation Programme and responsible for the delivery of key milestones within the Workstream plan.
Purpose and Objectives
The Development and Support Officer will be involved in the development and
delivery of solutions of the Online Portal for a workstream within the programme in accordance with the deliverables outlined in the project strand plan.
The Development and Support Officer will engage with and deliver services to a range of stakeholders and business areas in the
EA and / or the DE, through applying experience and judgement to the identification of options and the selection of solutions to business and technical problems.
Responsibilities
- Successful capture and documentation of information required for the design and implementation of the new system.
- Working in a small team within a project workstream and delivering key stages along the critical path.
- The Development and Support Officer will be responsible for monitoring and escalating the RAIDD (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies and Decisions) profile of their work programme within the strand.
Test Analyst
- Establish test conditions based on specified requirements.
- Develop test cases, scripts, and supporting data according to provided specifications.
- Interpret, execute, and document test cases in alignment with project test plans.
- Evaluate and report on test activities and clearly articulate results.
- Prepare detailed testing reports.
- Detect and report issues and risks associated with testing.
- Conduct comprehensive testing on new software and assess its impact on existing systems.
- Employ innovative methods to support project testing.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Apply a systematic approach to testing.
- Compile and maintain project documentation.
- Work independently and efficiently.
- Ability to seamlessly integrate into ongoing projects.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the work.
Training Support
Training
- Contribute to the creation of comprehensive training materials for software applications.
- Deliver effective training sessions using various methods such as workshops, webinars, and e-learning.
- Assist trainees with software-related issues during training.
- Monitor trainee performance and provide feedback.
- Prepare and update training materials and documentation
- Work with software developers and project managers to understand software functionalities.
- Manage training schedules, venues, and resources.
- Gather and implement trainee feedback to improve training sessions.
- Prepare training reports and track metrics.
You will
- Hold a third level qualification (HNC or above) and have a minimum of two years’ experience in a software development testing role liaising with a wide range of internal and external customers from various backgrounds and levels in an office environment;
OR
- Have a minimum of five years’ experience in a paid capacity in a software development role liaising with a wide range of internal and external customers from various backgrounds and levels in an office environment.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of information technology systems and must include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Proven ability to achieve targets/objectives and to meet challenging deadlines.
- Demonstrable ability to work as an effective member of a team.
