On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a Programme Manager x 2 (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract based on site 100% across 2 locations which are Aldermaston and London


AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. 2 Programme Manager's Interchangeable between Uranium, Plutonium or Critical Infrastructure Programme.


DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.


As a Programme Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Manage across pillar programmes and or projects with focus on governance (compliance and reporting)
  • Delivery across both change control and base line management
  • Working with all stakeholders Including client side
  • Guidance of multiple resources across the pillar (people, money).
  • Direct the planning of the project/programme or function.
  • Plan work across the pillar for as defined in the project/programme Work Authorisation Document (WAD).
  • Direct and initiate change against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
  • Direct, initiate and perform risk and opportunity identification and subsequent actions.
  • Takes a programmatic view; improves the effectiveness of the systems team.
  • Decision making on best for Programme based on data.
  • Deliver a programme of work or a highly complex major project to time, cost and quality, compliant with AWE processes.
  • Lead one or more business functions by defining strategic goals and operational plans.
  • Lead, coach and develop leaders and hold them to account and influence across and outside the company.
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.


Essential Skills


  • Well-rounded experience of project lifecycle, but open to development or construction delivery phase at Programme Management level
  • Strong all round knowledge across a number of Industry sectors
  • Strong background across both change control and base line management
  • Will consider a Senior Project Manager making a step-up to Programme Manager.
  • Robust individual who can handle the pressure of a highly regulated environment.
  • Flexibility on infrastructure/complex building/Oil & Gas/Process background.
  • Good communicator who can build relationships with exec and regulators.
  • Extensive stakeholder engagement at all levels
  • Strong self starter


Qualifications


A formal project management qualification is required
