On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a Principal Process and Performance Manager Outside IR35 for an 11 month contract based Hybrid working (2 days per week on site in Aldermaston and remaining WFH).
What if you could work on something that you can’t test… but cannot afford to fail? AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. Role purpose:
AWE is looking for someone who’s a seasoned product owner or manager, ideally with experience in tech or SaaS, who can bridge the gap between contract lifecycle management and system configuration for your Jaggaer implementation. They should be able to design processes, create and manage content, and lead the team through the next phase of our transformation. Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills are a must, and any experience with contract management systems or SaaS configuration would be a real bonus.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Principal Process and Performance Manager would be:
- Lead Product Ownership for CLM Systems
- Act as the product owner for the Jaggaer contract lifecycle management system, overseeing configuration, feature prioritization, and release planning to align with business needs.
- Design and Optimize S2C and CLM Processes
- Develop and refine Source-to-Contract (S2C) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) processes using user-centered design principles and data-driven insights.
- Create and manage content strategies that support transformation initiatives, ensuring consistency across mediums and alignment with user needs and business goals.
- Conduct User Research and Translate Insights
- Lead user research and usability testing, translating findings into actionable digital and process requirements that improve system usability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure successful delivery of product features.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs), track progress, and report outcomes to ensure transparency and continuous improvement in product and process performance.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

- Proven delivery of new products with a content focus in transformation programmes
- Experience creating content strategies
- Experience collecting, distilling & prioritising user requirements across numerous stakeholders and personas
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (People, Systems, Data, Change/Comms)
- Ability to prioritise features and manage product release
- Stakeholder engagement at all levels
- Experience in defining KPIs and reporting progress
- Ability to make tough prioritisation decisions and trade-offs
Desirable:
- Relevant professional memberships (e.g. CIPS, APM, PMI, BCS)
- Mentoring and developing teams
- Familiarity with content delivery across multiple mediums
- Knowledge management best practices
- Experience with contract lifecycle management systems
- Experience with digital workspaces (Kahootz)
- Experience configuring SaaS solutions
- Awareness of relevant commercial or procurement regulations (E.G. PA23 & NEC3/4)
- Experience with guided journeys and content delivery plans
- Familiarity with MS Office and video content delivery mediums
- Experience conducting content audits and maintaining style guides
