Description & Requirements

On behalf of our Client, we are looking for a PMO Support (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based in Aberdeen**Please note this is not a live role.


Job Purpose:

We are looking for experienced project delivery professionals, who are able to work very flexibly to meet the project needs of the very new organisation whilst it matures. We expect this will require the successful candidate to be adaptable in their approach.


As a PMO Support, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting G7 Project managers and PMO managers in establishing project management and portfolio management processes into the organisation
  • Supporting key project and portfolio processes including monitoring and reporting, risk & issue management, planning and governance.
  • To ensure we are actively managing the growing list of commercial discussions, accurately recording discussions and next steps.
  • Coordinate with other functions and stakeholders such as finance and commercial to prepare reports.
  • Preparing the information required for the weekly Client meeting (which will become the Client committee when established.
  • Deliver regular progress reports on activities, including relevant risks and issues to the Project Manager, including the provision of evidence to support the programme deliverables.
  • Collate, format and distribute data to support project requirements, cascading to internal and external parties where appropriate.



You'll have:

  • Have experience in delivering either complex or high-risk projects or portfolios within an agreed time, cost and quality constraint.
  • You will be adaptable when applying your knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, capable of designing a project structure and organisation to meet the requirements of the project according to its point in the lifecycle.
  • Be experienced and credible in dealing with a broad and complex range of stakeholders both in writing and in person, with the confidence to engage with senior officials.
  • You will have a proactive stakeholder engagement approach, seeking out opportunities to effectively communicate and influence, and be used to operating with a high degree of autonomy where there is ambiguity and change in a project.
  • Have practical experience in actively managing project risks and issues, able to make decisions, engage in dialogue on risk management strategy, and demonstrate a level of skill beyond simply 'managing a process'.
  • You will be able to apply your skills to a range of risks, with a sound understanding of how they relate to wider strategy.


Desirable:

You will have a recognised accreditation in professional project management such as:

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • MSP Practitioner
  • Agile Project Management Practitioner
  • APM Practitioner Qualification
  • APM Registered Project Professional
  • Civil Service Project Leadership Programme
