On behalf of DESNZ, we are looking for a G6 GBE Head of Organisation Set Up & Transition for a TBC DURATION contract based in Aberdeen, Scotland

The successful candidate will lead on setting up GBE as a new organisation, collaborating with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to ensure a smooth transition of work, resources, systems and processes. They will work closely with GBE Senior Leaders to feed into the design and implementation of GBE’s operating model, ensuring that organisational setup and growth are seamlessly integrated into role requests. Additionally, the role involves working with HR and Finance Directors to develop comprehensive policies and establish robust systems for their effective implementation.
As a G6 GBE Head of Organisation Set Up & Transition, your main responsibilities will be:
- Responsible for the overall delivery of GBE organisation set-up, ensuring work and resources are successful transferred from DESNZ to GBE at each transition point and that overall objectives align with GBE’s strategic goals.
- Manage the relationship with the DESNZ GBE Sponsorship Team and DESNZ GBE Set-up Team to implement the GBE Operating Model and ensure project management of the plans that sit underneath.
- Establish a GBE-view of the vision of GBE leadership to influence and support DESNZ.
- Responsible for operationalising the plans developed by DESNZ prog / GBE G6 planner and delivering aspects internal to GBE.
- Work with the HR and Finance Directors, ICS & other stakeholders to develop requirements & implement necessary HR and finance policies, and to establish robust systems for their effective implementation.
- Lead on the setting up of GBE’s functions and shared services, working closely with DESNZ counterparts and Integrated Corporate Services (ICS).
- Play a key role in creating GBE’s internal structures, governance, culture and working practices.
- Work with Project Management teams to operationalise plans for the set-up of GBE.

- Possess outstanding networking and stakeholder engagement abilities, capable of persuading and influencing others while building positive relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Exhibit exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in organisational set-up and change, including operating model, defining capabilities and implementing resourcing plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
