Description & Requirements
On behalf of EANI, we are looking for a Building Maintenance Officer (Inside IR35) for a 6 Month contract based in the Armagh area but with frequent travel.
EA was established on 1 April 2015 under the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2014. EA is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department of Education (DE) and the Department for the Economy (DfE), responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective primary and secondary education and educational services are available to meet the needs of children and young people, and for ensuring the provision of efficient and effective youth services.
As a Building Maintenance Officer, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Carry out regular visits to properties in relation to day-to-day maintenance problems and planned maintenance programmes.
- Appoint and supervise contractors of various disciplines to carry out maintenance repairs and planned maintenance projects.
- Issue and be accountable for works orders to contractors, for maintenance works and tendered projects.
- Inspect, supervise and instruct Contractors of various disciplines in relation to the quality of work in progress.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment logs.
Essential:
- An HNC or HND in a relevant field (e.g., Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline).
- Experience in building maintenance or a similar role.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and building codes.
- The ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- A valid driving licence to meet the travel needs of the role.
