On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Project Engineer - Telecoms for a 12 month hybrid contract based in London.

As a Project Engineer - Telecoms, your main responsibilities will be to:

• Implement Network Rail High Speed systems and procedures to deliver a cost-effective, high-quality, and safe approach to design, construction, commissioning, and other technical activities.
• Apply engineering controls and procedures to all projects and check all design and construction works are carried out and are appropriate to the Railway Group and Network Rail High Speed Company standards applicable to their discipline.
• Advise project and programme management in respect of all construction activities, testing and commissioning, and site supervision.
• Monitor whether the design and construction elements meet the requirements of legislation, including construction design management (CDM) regulations.
• Assure whether contractors' design, construction and specialist personnel are competent.
• Undertake reviews of design and construction activities.

Essential: 

• Previous experience working within the UK rail industry, with an understanding of railway systems, standards, and operational environments.
• Experience in the design, testing, commissioning, and handback of telecoms systems on major rail infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards and CDM regulations.
• Ability to review and assure contractor design submissions, construction activities, and technical documentation, with a strong understanding of engineering assurance and project governance processes.
• Demonstrable experience with RCCS, EMMIS, VCS, VHME, GSM-R/radio equipment projects, and CCTV systems within a rail or communications environment.
• Willingness and capability to undertake the responsibilities of a Designated Project Engineer (DPE), providing engineering leadership, technical assurance, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
