On behalf of Government Legal Department (GLD) we are looking for a HR Advisor (INSIDE IR35) for an initial 6-month contract based remote (ad hoc) in either London, Leeds, Salford, Bristol or Croydon.
Role:
To support a key people development programme within the Government Legal Department. This role will focus on managing career development initiatives for legal professionals, improving HR processes, and ensuring the effective administration of development and deployment programmes.
As a HR Advisor, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Manage the newly qualified lawyer development programme, ensuring smooth delivery and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate and manage development move processes for Grade 6 and Grade 7 legal professionals.
- Develop and maintain accurate workforce and programme data, ensuring a single source of truth for reporting and decision-making.
- Review, streamline and improve existing HR and development processes to drive efficiencies and enhance user experience.
- Design and implement consistent feedback mechanisms for development programmes and incorporate insights into continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build effective working relationships with senior stakeholders and provide expert advice and support throughout the employee development lifecycle.
- Analyse data and trends to produce evidence-based recommendations, reports and presentations.
- Identify and manage risks associated with programme delivery and process changes.
- Support planning activities, coordinate multiple priorities, and ensure delivery against demanding deadlines.
- Produce clear, concise communications, briefings and updates for a range of audiences.
Essential:
- Previous experience in an HR operational space.
- Demonstrable experience managing and improving business or HR processes.
- Experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Copilot.
Desirable:
- CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent HR qualification.
- Experience supporting career development, talent management, succession planning, or workforce development programmes.
