On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Business Analyst (Inside IR35) for a contract until March 2027. This is a hybrid working role (occasional travel to Swindon required).

Job Purpose:
The Information Governance Optimisation project is the first phase of a multi-workstream cluster of initiatives designed to:
- Strengthen UKRI’s information governance posture across the Group.
- Reduce risk exposure associated with poor data handling, compliance breaches, and information loss.
- Deliver a unified and consistent approach to information governance across UKRI, aligning policies, processes, and controls.
- Protect UKRI from significant financial, operational, and reputational harm arising from regulatory non-compliance or data incidents.
- Achieve compliance with UK Government standards and statutory obligations, including Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, and Freedom of Information requirements.
As a Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Translate strategy into delivery: Convert UKRI’s information governance objectives into clear, actionable business and functional requirements.
- Align multi-workstream delivery: Ensure consistency and integration across Privacy, Automation, Physical Records, and EDRMS initiatives.
- Standardise processes and controls: Define “as-is” and “to-be” processes to enable a unified governance approach across UKRI.
- Embed regulatory compliance: Ensure requirements meet UK GDPR, Data Protection Act, FOI, and government standards.
- Mitigate risk exposure: Identify gaps in current practices and shape solutions that reduce financial, operational, and reputational risk.
- Bridge stakeholders and delivery teams: Facilitate engagement and translate business needs into implementable solutions, supporting adoption and outcomes.
Essential:
- Demonstrable Business Analysis experience
- Experience in JIRA/Confluence
- Experience in designing business process
- As-Is To-Be experience
Desirable:
- Business Analyst Qualification
