About the Roles:
We are recruiting a number of capability and capacity coordinators to work in the capability and capacity services team. The team will be responsible for developing and delivery our service to support and enable communities and local authorities to establish community energy groups, develop projects and standardise delivery models.
The Capacity and Capability Coordinators will play a key role in empowering communities, local government and public sector bodies to engage confidently in renewable energy projects. You will be take a lead on one of the main aspects of the capability and capacity service such as the creation, development and continuous improvement of templates, guidance tools and knowledge products that support our customers and channel partners with the different archetypes for renewable energy projects. In addition, you will be working to a Capacity and Capability Manager on our longer-term thinking for developing the service.
These are creative, collaborative and user-focused roles, offering the chance to shape how GBE Local supports the UK’s growing community energy sector and local energy projects. Working closely with colleagues across GBE Local, regional partners and sector experts, you will gather evidence, understand user needs and translate technical information into practical tools, all the while maintaining a network of high-quality resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and maintenance of materials, advice, guidance or expertise supporting the full lifecycle of renewable energy project archetypes
- Work with subject-matter experts to translate complex technical, financial and legal requirements into clear, user-focused guidance for non-expert audiences
- Manage the end-to-end process for developing knowledge products, including scoping, drafting, testing with users, quality assurance and publication
- Support on the development of GBE Local’s longer-term strategy and approach to capacity and capability products, services and offerings
- Produce high-quality written materials including briefings, explainers, step-by-step guides and visual tools
- Contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement by gathering user feedback and tracking how tools are used across the sector
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Experience developing templates, process documents, guidance tools, training materials or similar knowledge products
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively and deliver to deadlines
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to gather input from technical specialists and non-expert users
- Good analytical skills and the ability to synthesise information from multiple sources, as well as having a proactive, organised and user-friendly approach to problem-solving
Desirable:
- Experience working in or with community energy, local government, or public-sector delivery environments
- Experience with service design, user research or developing customer-facing tools
