Description & Requirements

On behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) we are looking for a Commercial Officer (INSIDE IR35) for a 12-month hybrid contract based out of Corsham.

 

The successful candidate will have an expectation of 4 days working in the office and the one day working from home

DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.  Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

 

 

 

As a Commercial Officer, your main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Support the delivery of a £1m–£2m Category B procurement exercise. 
  • Work closely with project teams and key stakeholders throughout the procurement lifecycle. 
  • Draft and review contract terms and conditions. 
  • Develop and tailor ITT documentation and procurement packs. 
  • Contribute to commercial plans, sourcing strategies and evaluation approaches. 
  • Support procurement activity within a large framework agreement. 
  • Adapt and enhance existing commercial and procurement documentation. 
  • Evaluate and score commercial tender responses. 
  • Collate evaluation outcomes and support procurement recommendations. 
  • Provide flexible commercial support across a variety of projects as business needs require.

 

 

Essential: 

 

  • Proven experience working on high-value framework contracts. 
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. 
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work across multiple projects. 
  • Experience delivering end-to-end procurement competitions. 
  • Strong knowledge of contract documentation and tender processes. 
  • Experience evaluating and moderating commercial tender responses. 
  • Background in infrastructure or service management contracts preferred. . 
  • PFI contract exit experience highly desirable. 
  • Must be able to undertake site visits where required.

 

 

 

Desirable: 

 

  • Background in infrastructure or service management contracts preferred
  • Understanding of NEC contracts desirable
  • Experience supporting contract exit and transition activities desirable.
  • PFI contract exit experience highly desirable.
