On behalf of Department Of Business & Trade, we are looking for a Digital QA Lead (Inside IR35) for a 5 months contract based Hybrid / in UK wide.

As a Digital QA Lead, your main responsibilities will be:
- The QA Lead will operate across DDaT, leading a department-wide assessment of current QA maturity, practices, and tooling across all digital services
- They will undertake a structured review of live services and delivery teams to establish a clear baseline of QA coverage, capability, and consistency
- Assess QA coverage across DDaT digital services and delivery teams, identify gaps, risks and inconsistencies in current testing practices
- Review and provide recommendations on best practice approaches per service and evaluate current use of AI in testing across teams and identify opportunities and risks
- Assess existing tooling landscape, including overlap, effectiveness, and opportunities for consolidation
Essential:
- Proven experience conducting organisation-wide QA maturity assessments to evaluate current testing capabilities, processes, and effectiveness.
- Ability to identify QA gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, delivering prioritised recommendations across multiple services or portfolios.
- Strong experience assessing testing tool landscapes, evaluating effectiveness, identifying duplication, and recommending consolidation strategies.
- Demonstrable experience defining and implementing QA standards, governance frameworks, and consistent ways of working across delivery teams.
- Experience developing future-state QA operating models, including centralised QA functions, SDET-led approaches, organisational structures, roles, and governance.
- Proven ability to provide strategic recommendations on capability development, including upskilling versus hiring, and presenting clear options to senior leadership for decision-making.
