On behalf of DWP, we are looking for x2 Pay and Reward Modellers - Inside IR35 for a 4 month contract working on a Hybrid basis (3 days per week in Newcastle, Leeds or Birmingham office and remaining WFH)
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:
- Help people to move into work and support those already in work to progress, with the aim of increasing overall workforce participation
- Help people to plan and save for later life, while providing a safety net for those who need it now
- Provide effective, efficient, and innovative services to the millions of claimants who rely on us every day, including the most vulnerable in society
- Improve experience of our services while maximising value for money for the taxpayer.
The role:
The team requires 2 experienced Pay and Reward modellers with experience in a large, complex organisation, with public sector experience an advantage.
- The role of Pay and Reward Modeller is to lead and deliver complex modelling and we wish to hire someone who has been through pay award cycles and can share this specialist knowledge with the team.
- We are looking for a contractor who can demonstrate that they can accomplish this through determining the most appropriate methodology and software approaches whilst managing resources, priorities and cross-working to ensure timely delivery and upskill the existing team to use their skills to continue the work in this manner.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Pay and Reward Modeller would be to:
- Lead on the development, and ensuring the maintenance of, pay and reward policies across the department.
- Ensure that the pay and reward strategy reflects legislative changes and remains compliant.
- Form strong networks across the business and government, building respected relationships with key stakeholders in Cabinet Office and HM Treasury.
- Work with our reward modellers to understand and interpret complex data in order to develop sound recommendations and approaches. Maintain the quality of data analysis to inform decision making.
- Provide clear steers and expert advice to senior audiences, on complex issues, including to the Permanent Secretary, and the DWP Director Generals, to influence and inform decision making.
As a pay modeller, they would be responsible for modelling within several key areas, such as:
- Senior Civil Service Pay
- Delegated Pay (below SCS) including supporting pay annual review
- Reward
- Pay gap reporting
- Equal Pay analysis
- National Living Wage Changes
Essential:
- Pay and reward modelling
- Experience in the key areas listed above
- Ability to interpret data and communicate to relevant parties
- Excellent communication skills
- Stakeholder management experience
- Power BI experience
- Advanced Excel skills
Desirable:
- Civil Service/Public Sector experience is an advantage
