On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Commercial Officer - Inside IR35 for a 6 month contract based Hybrid working (3 days per week in Milton Keynes office and remaining WFH)

The main duties and responsibilities of the Commercial Officer would be to:
- Provide analytical support to the development and execution of the Supply Chain Risk Process.
- Identify the key drivers behind supply chain risks and develop appropriate options for analysis and reporting.
- Compile appropriate reports to contribute to robust and fact-based decision making.
- Develop and undertake processes to support contractual obligations between parties including any financial arrangements, working with the relevant stakeholders.
- Provide support to management to assess and endorse business/commercial strategies or proposals including the validation of options proposed and benefit statements.
- Manage and monitor the metrics to track, periodically review and report actual business performance.
- Assist in the development of continuous improvement options and conclusions with a constant reference to the business drivers involved.
- Assist with the drafting and finalisation of formal documentation, reports and supporting schedules, and undertake any other tasks and activities as required.
- Assist with reviewing and analysing supplier submissions via the Supplier Intelligence Database (SID).
- Maintain and update the list of actions identified via supplier response plans and supply chain risk review meetings.
Essential:
- Attention to detail and strong time management to achieve set deadlines.
- Highly numerate with strong analytical and financial skills
- Experience of contributing to the development and implementation of change initiatives
- Advanced level of Microsoft Office systems, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Good written and presentation skills including an ability to analyse and present complex information in a clear and concise format
- Proven customer service orientation and collaborative approach
- Degree trained or equivalent business experience
Desirable:
- Large utility, contracting and/or engineering organisation experience
- Rail industry exposure
- Supplier/Commercial Management experience
- Risk management experience in a construction related industry.
