AMS PSR

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a 3 Senior Business Analysts Inside IR35  for a 12 and 6 months contract based Hybrid 2 days in the local office, 3 days at home, in your closest MOJ location.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.

The Effective Proposal Framework (EPF) is a digital tool used by Probation Practitioners at pre-sentence stage and as part of pre-release planning. It uses a rules based algorithm to identify requirements or restrictions that could be proposed.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 

As a Senior Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will be to:

• Join a multi-disciplinary agile team to support the design and development of a new inhouse EPF tool
• Discovery with the new team is proposed, before moving to alpha and then beta ( discovery has already been undertaken)
• Document requirements, prototype and test solutions, ensuring alignment to MOJ design and development practices and develop to-be processes

Essential:

• Recent experience working as a Senior Business Analyst
• Strategic analysis to support delivery of the new service as well as requirements engineering, including elicitation, documentation and maintenance, specifically via epics and user stories
• Process modelling to design and agree to-be processes
• Stakeholder management including identifying, analysing and managing stakeholders, developing communication strategy, specifically in respect to defining and agreeing requirements
• Support for backlog management, prioritisation and defining MVP in an agile multi-disciplinary team

Desirable:

Experience of designing and building digital public services
