Description & Requirements



On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Product and Delivery Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month hybrid contract with one day a week in London and the expectation of some expensed travel.


The Cabinet Office supports the Prime Minister and ensures the effective running of government. The Cabinet Office is also the corporate headquarters for the government, in partnership with HM Treasury, and takes the lead in certain critical policy areas. As a Product and Delivery Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:


  • Lead on delivery planning for you team maintaining a roadmap and strategy, and develop and prioritise a backlog.
  • Lead a product through different phases of the product life cycle, from discovery, through development, delivery and continuous improvement, to retirement.
  • Define, explain and iterate an evidence-based vision for solutions that are compelling to your team, stakeholders and end-users.
  • Gather and share metrics of success, and use this to inform decision-making.
  • Build and maintain teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well.
  • Focus the team on what is most important to the delivery of products and services, as well as identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them.


Essential:


  • Proven experience working with Agile and Lean practices to deliver outcomes effectively.
  • Demonstrable experience in product management, including prioritisation and value‑driven delivery.
  • The ability to build and maintain high‑performing teams, promoting collaboration and positive team dynamics.
  • Experience communicating effectively between technical and non‑technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts clearly.
  • Evidence of making effective decisions and adapting approaches to support change and continuous improvement.
  • Evidence of delivering at pace while working collaboratively, maintaining momentum and shared ownership.


Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
