Description & Requirements


On behalf of Government Legal Department, we are looking for x2 Paralegal's (Inside IR35) for a 3 month hybrid contract based out of London.


The successful candidates will have an expectation of 3 days in the office and the remainder working from home.


As a Paralegal, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Lead and coordinate paralegal team delivering end-to-end legal support
  • Manage full lifecycle of Employment Tribunal and litigation cases
  • Handle large-scale disclosure and redaction exercises
  • Allocate and oversee legal work across paralegal team
  • Instruct Counsel and support/attend hearings where required
  • Draft high-quality legal documents incl. witness statements, responses & client advice
  • Prepare instructions to Counsel and external lawyers
  • Act as key contact for clients – managing queries and stakeholder relationships
  • Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients, witnesses and stakeholders
  • Conduct legal research to inform case strategy and decision-making
  • Analyse complex evidence and large volumes of information
  • Support delivery of large-scale legal projects (e.g. legislation, litigation, disputes)
  • Track, prioritise and escalate case activities as needed
  • Collaborate across teams to drive best practice and continuous improvement
  • Maintain and share legal knowledge, updates and documentation


Essential:


  • Proven paralegal/legal experience (litigation or advisory environment)
  • Skilled in document review and drafting witness statements
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capability
  • Confident communicator with senior stakeholders and clients
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Sound understanding of legal frameworks and environment


Desirable:


  • Experience with LexisNexis / Westlaw
  • Team leadership or line management experience
